To read PDF documents with a screen reader please link to the Access Adobe website which provides useful tools and resources. Adobe also has a free online conversion tool for PDFs.

You need Acrobat Reader software to view Adobe Acrobat PDF files. If you do not have the software installed on your computer, you can download it for free at Acrobat Reader.

Hints if you´re using access technology

If you use access technology to view PDF documents go to the Access Adobe website site which provides information and tools. An online conversion tool for PDFs can be found at online conversion tools for Adobe PDF documents.

Hints for downloading Acrobat files
There are two ways to download PDFs, first, right click on the PDF link, select ´save target as´ from the pop-up menu, download to your hard disk. Or, open the PDF, click on the save icon on the Acrobat toolbar, download to hard disk.


In most instances Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) publications are provided with an alternative, such as Microsoft Word, plain text or HTML. In some cases, alternatives have not been provided due to copyright and legal reasons. Alternatives have been provided wherever possible. In all cases where a PDF document is provided without an alternative, UCLG will provide a suitable alternative format on request.
