It is indeed an honour to be elected Chair of the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus for 2013.   Vice Chair Ron Holman and I look forward to continuing the efforts of the EOWC to identify opportunities to grow our regional economy and support the health and well being of our citizens.

The EOWC is a group of eleven Eastern Ontario Counties and two Single-Tier municipalities, working in conjunction with the provincial and federal governments in promoting our region and focusing on this year's EOWC priorities.

This year's focus will be on two main areas: economic development and financial sustainability.  The EOWC along with its main partners across the region will develop an economic development strategy that will be our roadmap to further growth and development.   One of the building blocks of that strategy is the Eastern Ontario Regional (broadband) Network.  EORN is a $250 million dollar designed to bring for high speed internet access to at least 95% of all homes and businesses.  Its roll out will continue through 2013..
